Do it anyway!

About me

Who I am

I am a writer, dramaturge and editor. I tell both small, everyday situations with a pinch of magic, as well as big, world-changing stories with an eye for detail. Exact listening and observation are in my nature and honest and authentic storytelling is my goal with every story. I have inexhaustible perseverance, I search for the right words and images with great determination and I am passionate about every single project.

What I write

I write series, feature films and experiment a lot with other narrative formats. I tell stories for both young audiences and older generations. I immigrated to Germany as a child and grew up in a musicians' house, which is why many of my subjects are influenced by the themes of migration and music. Other topics close to my heart are age discrimination, generational conflicts, unusual family constellations and the position of women in our society.

Why I write

I am firmly convinced that moving images not only shape people, but help shape society, which is why I want to tell stories with socially relevant topics and reflect everyday life. I am driven by my enormous curiosity about people, paired with a lot of dramaturgical knowledge and many years of writing experience.  The stories come to me and I listen to them.

How I write

I love mixing genres: every drama I write is comedic, every comedy is tragic. My style is funny but serious, light yet deep, unique yet universal. I regularly work in teams with co-authors and have experience in writers' rooms. I attach great importance to authenticity, reliability in the team and efficient work. But above all, I know both perspectives of development: that of the creative author and that of the critical dramaturge.

Childhood and adolescence

Born in 1984 in snowy Siberia, I emigrated to Germany with my family in 1991. We ended up in the northern Hessian city of Kassel, the city of fairy tales and modern art, facing a culture clash and the question of identity and belonging. Coming from a family of musicians, classical music, theater and opera have always been an essential part of my world.

Turning points

I don't want to be surprised that it's happening, I want to be surprised by how it's happening.
